National Work Zone Awareness Week

Written by goSafe | Apr 23, 2020 12:00:00 PM

goSafe has always been committed to protecting workers on the field, so for this year's National Work Zone Awareness Week we're promoting positive safety measures that help keep both motorists and workers safe.

Whether residential, commercial, road, or infrastructure; construction zones are filled with workers who are focused on improving the lives of those around them by getting the job done. When you encounter a work zone, your awareness of your surroundings is crucial.

In light of this, every driver must do their part to protect those who are building our future homes, businesses, and roadways.

  • Drive slower in work zones to increase reaction time
  • Be on the lookout for construction workers
  • Pay special attention to work zone signs
  • Give space to trucks parked in the margins
  • Check your blind spot before changing lanes in a work zone
  • Pay attention to merges and changes in the lane pattern
  • NEVER text and drive, especially in a work zone!

You play a role in Work Zone Safety

National Work Zone Awareness Week (April 17 - 21, 2023) was started to raise awareness of the hazards of driving through a work zone and promote safety for drivers and workers alike. The initiative takes place throughout the U.S. with partnerships between state departments of transportation (DOT), national road safety organizations, government agencies, private companies, and individuals.
